 HISTORY From day one, back in November of 1988, The Bird House has been a family owned and operated business run by Mike and Judy Della Chiesa. Since that time, we have grown from a being contained in a tiny building which housed all of our stock and supplies to three separate buildings consisting of two breeding buildings and a retail store front.  EXPERIENCE Mike’s experience with birds goes back thirty four years to when he was a child purchasing a pair of canaries for the purpose of breeding. His success with this experience grew as he did over time transforming him into one of the most well versed and knowledgeable breeders in the Hudson Valley, making him able to breed not only just canaries now, but a variety of the most common pet birds. OUR MISSION The main focus here at The Bird House is to supply our customers with a healthy, well socialized bird at a more than reasonable price, even sometimes at half the price that our local competitors advertise. The extent of our desire to achieve our main objective sees no bounds. SERVICE Our services at The Bird House go hand in hand with our mission. With out operating in the manner which we do we would never be able to provide the services that our customers need. Examples of our methods include us holding our male canaries for sometimes as long as nine months just to be sure that the canary being sold to you, our customer, is singing. After all, the purpose of buying a “singing” canary is to hear is sing. Another example would be the extreme care given to our hatchling birds in the parrot family. All of our larger birds are snuggled and hand fed from the time they hit ten days old to assure that a very loving and bonded bird is brought forth to our customers. As we hope you can see our birds are prepared long in advance for their potential owners which will lead us to you, the potential owner. We spend time consulting with you, picking your brains so to speak, in order to match you with a bird that is best for you. Our idea here is that the better the match between owner and pet, the longer a happy and healthy relationship will last. |
